Matt Maximo has been a key Grayscale Research team member since 2021. Matt’s crypto journey began at age 13, when he mined cryptocurrencies to fund personal online gaming interests. That personal interest progressed into professional ambitions, and in 2018, Matt founded a startup called SmartTix to address fraud in the event ticketing industry — one of the earliest endeavors leveraging NFT technology. 

Matt holds a B.S. in Biology and Bioinformatics from Seattle University. He grew up in Seattle, and now resides in Manhattan.
